Through our eyes: a case study unveiled

The challenge

We needed to replace expensive, generic stock photography with imagery that better reflected our workforce and diverse customer base. At the same time, the organisation wanted to strengthen employee engagement and create a greater sense of connection across more than 60 local authority areas.

The approach: fostering connection

We launched the ‘through our eyes’, inviting employees nationwide to capture and submit photographs that represented the "spirit of their work,". The campaign used a simple but powerful crowdsourcing model, empowering employees to contribute directly to the organisation's visual identity.

The impact

The initiative generated employee-submitted photographs, creating a rich and authentic image library that reflected the diversity of our people, their work and locations. The organisation significantly reduced its reliance on costly stock photography while improving the quality and relevance of visual communications.

Beyond the financial benefits, the campaign delivered exceptional employee engagement. Colleagues saw their own images featured in corporate reports, presentations, intranet content and internal campaigns, creating a strong sense of pride and connection to the brand. The result was a highly visible example of employees shaping the organisation's story from within.

Why it stands out
This campaign demonstrates how internal communications can simultaneously drive engagement, strengthen culture and deliver tangible business value. By turning employees into content creators, we transformed a routine communications requirement into an enterprise-wide participation initiative that reinforced authenticity, inclusion and brand alignment.
